READ BELOW FOR IMPORTANT UPDATES. WE ARE CHANGING THINGS UP IN 2025!!! WE EXPECT TO BE OPEN AGAIN IN MID TO LATE JUNE. 

Come frolic in our garden while cutting your own beautiful fresh bouquet of flowers and herbs. There are several seasonal varieties of blooms to choose from. BIG NEWS!!! We have decided to convert to a self-serve u-pick for the 2025 growing season!!! What does this mean for our customers? It means that we will be open 7 days per week from 8am-11am and 6pm-9pm (unless otherwise reserved for special events).   

The self-serve stand will be located next to The Bloom Box which is the red shed along the tree line by the flower field. The cost is $25 per reusable 32-ounce stadium cup which you can fill with up to 25 stems. There is a $5 admission fee for anyone ages 10 and up who will not be cutting flowers. Please contact us before bringing a large group so that we can be sure that we can accommodate you. There will be a cash box as well as a Venmo QR Code. You can also pay online via our SHOP link which will allow you to pay with a credit card. Both the Pick Your Own Experiences and Admission Tickets will be listed there.  

There will be clear instructions for you to follow and it is VERY IMPORTANT that you read through these BEFORE you start cutting. This will be our first year offering the u-pick as a self-serve operation and whether or not we continue providing this service will depend on the honesty and respectfulness of our customers. Children must be supervised at all times and are not allowed to cut flowers unless they are accompanied by an adult. The gardens are intended to be a place of peace and tranquility. Please be mindful of any other guests who might be visiting during the same time.   

U-Pick rows will be clearly marked. It is very important that you DO NOT cut from any area other than the rows marked for u-pick. These rows are reserved for our CSA subscriptions, Wholesale customers and events. 

If we are there working when you arrive (which we most often are), you are welcome to come into The Bloom Box to shop our selection of Chickapoo Farm Black Angus beef, fresh eggs, locally handmade candles, t-shirts and more. 

Feel free to bring a meal to enjoy at one of our picnic tables and simply take in the scenery.

HOW IT WORKS :

• Take a scenic drive out to the farm located at 1167 Haley Road, Shelbyville, KY 40065. There will be a long gravel driveway at the bend in the road. Go straight down the driveway and parking is on the left before the pergola. 
• When you arrive, look for the small shed next to The Bloom Box which will have harvest instructions, 32-ounce reusable souvenir cups filled with water, and snips for cutting.
• Pay BEFORE you start cutting or taking a stroll. We have CSA Pick Your Own Memberships listed in our SHOP for folks who would like to visit and cut flowers more often. Make sure to sign up for our newsletter and follow us on Instagram and/or Facebook so that we can keep you updated with information about additional farm happenings and events.  All tickets purchased online expire at the end of each growing season.
• After you fill your cup with up to 25 flower stems feel free to enjoy a picnic or just relax and take in the scenery. We will do our best to have our farm shop open as much as possible during our u-pick hours, but there will be times when we are unable to be open. We often have deliveries to make, bouquets to wrap, kids to feed and other business to attend to.  

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING:

• Appropriate attire and shoes. The flowers are in an open field without shade and the grounds may be wet/muddy.
• Sunscreen and bug spray. 
• EpiPen if needed. We have tons of pollinators including bees on the farm. The bees are not interested in stinging while they are collecting pollen, however, it could happen. If someone in your party has a severe allergy, please be prepared.
• Camera/Phone. You are encouraged to take photos and we appreciate being tagged. If you are a professional photographer coming to take photos, please head over to the Farm Photoshoots tab and read our policy before you start taking any pictures.  

PLEASE LEAVE BEHIND:

• We love fur babies but for the safety of our guests and our farm animals, please leave your fur babies home. If you have a service dog, please alert us ahead of time.

A FEW EXTRA DETAILS:

• There is a port-o-pot located close to the parking area should you need to use the restroom during your visit. 
• Children 10 and under are free if they assist their parent or guardian. If they would like their own cup, the same $25 ticket price applies.  Anything that they cut (including short stems which they all love to do) will need to be included in your stem count. They must be able to safely handle snips.  No running with sharp objects!  Please always keep your kiddos with you. Our family works extremely hard to be able to offer this experience so no destructive behavior will be tolerated.
